The Purpose of Yoga - Anger Management Secrets Of Pranayama

How come some Yogis seem so even tempered? How do yoga practitioners manage to establish control over fits of anger? Will any yoga technique help those who become physically violent? Let's look at some Yogic methods to empower you to take control of your feelings and anger.

Yogic breathing techniques (Pranayama) are highly underrated by the public at large. Among the many powers of Pranayama is the ability to release anger and tension from within your body and mind. Yoga teachers guide their students in a number of Pranayama techniques.

Here is a sample of a Pranayama technique, which you can use for anger management. Inhale for four seconds, hold for seven seconds, and exhale for eight seconds. Do this four times, without making any noise, before you say a word.

You should learn to do this so quietly, a person standing next to you would not know. Eventually, you will be able to do this for a much longer time span, which is fine. The one to two ratio of inhale to exhale will expel your anger and rid your body of toxins.

This breathing pattern is sometimes called the 4-7-8 breath, but it can also be modified for people who can not breathe as deep. For example: You can modify this Pranayama to - inhale for two seconds, hold for four seconds, and exhale for four seconds.

This breathing sequence is a 2-4-4 breath. The one to two ratio of inhale to exhale has still been maintained, but the sequence has been modified for those who have a shallow breath. When possible, the breath can be lengthened as the lungs get used to harnessing the air flow.

Extended breath retention may have to be modified to meet your needs. In the case of dizziness, pregnancy, high blood pressure, and breathing disorders, you should consult with a physician before practicing breathing techniques.

What's With All The Hype? The New PS3 Processor Chip

There was quite a lot of hype last year about play station 3's revolutionary processor chip, "The cell." This processor chip was going to blow everybody's minds and totally change the way we think about video games. It would make games so amazingly realistic, you'd never be able to go back to the old systems again.

Now, the PS3 is out and everybody is still waiting for that mind-blowing gaming experience that the cell promised. Sony had said that, in particular, the cell would give the PS3 better graphics and more detail, and give it a competitive edge over the xBox 360 and nintendo Wii.

What makes the cell processor chip so extraordinary? The cell processor chip is a multicore chip, which means that it has a main processor core that controls a number of sub-processors. This design is a big improvement over regular processor chips because it is capable of carrying out several tasks at once. With the cell, each chip has several cores that control 8 sub-processors. While regular processor chips can carry out only 2 tasks at once, the cell is capable of carrying out up to 10. This means that it runs faster than 4 GHz, 10 times faster than PC processor chips. The Intel chip comes closest, running at 3.8 GHz.

What this means for gamers is that the PS3 processor chip is able to offer better graphics. The increased operating speed and multi-tasking can be used to make games even more realistic. This was the cause for all the hype surrounding the release of the gaming system with the new processor chip.

Unfortunately, many gamers feel that the cell has fallen short of expectations. Some gamers say that the XBox 360 has better graphics than the PS3. If you compare games made for both systems, like madden 07, call Of duty 3, Need For Speed Carbon and others, you can see that the XBox has better graphics all around. You can see some differences in the graphics, but it's hard to say that one system's graphics are better than any others. For example, in some games the backgrounds are clearer, or the lighting better. Most gamers agree that these differences are hardly noticeable.

It seems to many that the makers of PS3 are not using the chip's full potential. Not yet, anyway. Gamers are eagerly awaiting the next round of new games to be released by PS3, and hoping that developers will use the cell to its fullest potential.

The cell was developed by Sony, Toshiba and IBM working together over four years, and there are plans in the works to use its high speed multi-tasking capabilities for new models of digital televisions and other household electronics. The play station 3's use of this brand new technology is something of a first; for a new processor chip to make its debut with a gaming console is unusual. Maybe this will be a new trend in the tech industry. This is good news for gamers!

Is It Legal to Hack Your Wireless Network?

Once upon a time there was no choice when it came to your phone service. Not only did you have to get your service through bell Systems, you had to rent the equipment from them too. Yes, you had to actually rent the phone that was plugged into the RJ-45 on your wall. A 1968 case where Carter Electronics took on bell Systems resolved that problem when a judge ruled that third party equipment can be plugged in and used on the network that bell Systems maintained and provided service on. A whole new communications industry was born and consumers were free to choose which equipment they wanted to use for communications.

The bell system companies dragged their feet for many years after the Carterphone decision, still requiring customers to rent their equipment up until consumers fought them well into the late 70's. Even through that battle, we are still retreating back to the era where our communications options are becoming increasingly controlled in other arenas. Consumers are forced into contracts they don't want to be locked into, and to use phones only supplied by our wireless providers, Shouldn't the 1968 Carterfone decision make a difference in the wireless industry? Because of this case, shouldn't I as a consumer have the ability to use whatever equipment I want on a wireless network? How about a cable network? The Internet?

In the Carterfone case, the FCC cited their decision which stated that a subscriber's right to use the network in ways which are "privately beneficial without being publicly detrimental" applied to ALL types OF equipment. What does this mean? It means that everybody who subscribes to a service is able to use their own equipment in a way that benefits the subscriber as long as no other subscribers are affected. without the Hush-A-Phone or Carterfone decisions, companies like AOL may have tried to rent us "the only computer that will work on the Internet." Electric companies could make a case for dictating which light bulbs you use. Gas companies might force you to buy their brand of furnaces.

Still today, most cable companies require their subscribers to rent a cable box you could buy your own. SIM card technology provides the ability to switch wireless phones whenever a person wants to, yet providers such as Verizon and Alltell fail to embrace this technology, forcing consumers to sign a new contract or spend exorbitant amounts of money to simply switch

As consumers we need to start demanding better of our service providers. AT&T and sprint allow us to use SIM cards with most of their phones. We can go online and purchase a phone off Ebay, pop in the SIM card from an old phone and you're ready to go! There is alternative equipment that can be used on cable networks, but nobody really challenges cable companies when it comes to actually using it. We all just keep our mouths shut, dig in our pockets and fork over the extra $5 a month to rent the box. We have come along way since 1969. There are multiple phone carriers, wireless companies, and cable companies to choose from. but we can do better than being roped into paying a subscription fee on items we can buy ourselves or signing 2 year contracts just to get the latest smartphone. Remember it's supply and demand. Ultimately it should come down to the consumers wants and needs. Not what the provider is willing to give us.
